Listen to Good Charlotte's "40 oz. Dream"

Middle school me is squealing on the inside right now. Good Charlotte has reunited and announced their sixth album Youth Authority, and is set to tour this year! They just finished supporting All Time Low on their Back to the Future Hearts tour in the UK and Ireland in February.

"40 oz. Dream" is their latest single and it references when the group was on MTV before all of the reality shows and modern music took over. I must admit that I can see where they're coming from. I too am nostalgic for a time when Top 40 music, at least in pop and rock, was instrument and voice focused instead of electronically altered and when rap was more raw and unfiltered. It's also about missing the rock lifestyle, and how everything has changed since they first emerged in the late 90s post-grunge scene in Maryland.
